I had he good fortune to spend one full day in the "5 Terre" (5 lands in English) National Park in the Italian Region that goes under the name of Liguria. It is a beautiful parks made of a maritime and land reservoir. It is home of absolutely amazing landscapes and picturesque little fishermen villages.
The park itself is home of very hard on-hill vineyards. Lemon trees make the atmosphere even more peculiar.
Once there you soon realize that you need a "light" trekking outfit to properly enjoy your visit and hunt for the best photo scenic spot.
Manarola - a pearl in the stones
This is a colorful fishermen village, a must go place in your overall experience. Images of Manarola are famous in the world, and if you want to take advantage of the beautiful colors at sunset you better be ready to position your tripod on the the little passage that brings people top-hill just around 6pm. The risk of not having a spot just for you is high. Black sea-stones and blue sea water make the perfect frame to the colorful little houses of this beautiful village. Golden and Blu hours are the perfect time of the day you want to shoot this beautiful place.
The Park and its pearls are easily reachable from various locations in Italy.

Most of times we walk and are surrounded by people, the chaos of our populated cities is always part of our lives. We step out of our front door and we are in the crowd, We sit in our cars and we are in the traffic. We want an ice cream right there, that very famous Italian "gelateria" and we are in a line. Crowd, traffic, lines they are all part of our lives. Not this tree. This tree is lucky. It is solo, standing by itself, with a view on Lake Maggiore, one of the biggest lakes in Italy and Europe.
The light effects on its branches make it perfect for a black and white finishing. Black and white also help me emphasize the contrast between shadows and lights.
